Nagaland records 147 new COVID positive cases, 12 deaths

Kohima: Nagaland Saturday recorded 147 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, which increased the total number of COVID- 19 cases in the state to 22, 387, while 12 COVID positive patients succumbed to the endemic.

Official sources said that among the 147 fresh cases, the highest 53 cases in Dimapur, followed by 47 cases in Kohima, 19 in Tuensang, 10 in Mon, five in Phek, five in Zunheboto, four in Mokokchung, two in Longleng, one in Peren and one in Wokha. According to the sources, 77 out of the new cases were detected from self-test or random tests, while 38 were traced contacts. There were 17 cases among frontline workers, 12 from armed forces and security personnel and 3 from returnees or travelers.
