In a statement issued by NSF President Kegwayhun Tep and Education Secretary Medovi Rhi said this appeal was being made keeping the interest of the Myanmar students’ community whose careers have been adversely affected by the situation and Myanmar Naga students, who had fled their homes in view of the law and order situation, and wish to pursue their academic studies.

The NSF release said it had made the appeal in view of the influx of Myanmar Nagas into various Naga-inhabited areas and in the interest of the student community whose career has been adversely affected by the conflict in Myanmar.

This arrangement should be put in place until such time that the situation in Myanmar becomes conducive for the students to return to their respective places, NSF said.

The appeal of NSF came amid reports of the military launching fresh attacks on the civilians in some locations, forcing the people to flee to neighbouring areas across the border, including Mizoram state, the statement said.
