Kohima: The Government of Nagaland stated on Tuesday that the incidence of COVID-19 cases in the state has seen a decline over the last few weeks, with a similar decrease in the number of such patients requiring hospitalization.

According to an official report released on Tuesday, the matter was discussed in the State Level COVID War Room and it was felt that the number of beds available in government hospitals and dedicated COVID hospitals is sufficient to meet the requirements at present for treatment of COVID-19 patients.

Keeping this in view, the mandatory reservation of beds in private hospitals may not be required. Therefore, the directions to reserve 50% of the bed capacity available with the private hospitals vide Order dated May 5, 2021 shall stand revoked till further orders, it said.
