New Delhi: The BJP high command has approved the name of N Biren Singh for the post of Manipur Chief Minister, following the party’s victory in the recently concluded state assembly election in the state, sources said.
N Biren Singh served as the Chief Minister of Manipur from 2017 to 2022.
Similarly, the BJP high command in Delhi has also approved the name of Pramod Sawant for the post of Goa Chief Minister after the assembly election, India Today quoted sources as saying here on Wednesday.
The BJP secured a clear majority picking up 32 seats in a house of 60.
In Goa, the BJP won 20 out of 40 seats but the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, which won two seats, has declared its support for the party. Hence, the BJP will form the government in the state.
Pramod Sawant served as the Chief Minister of Goa from 2019 to 2022.
The swearing-in ceremonies in both states will be held after Holi, which is on Friday. With agency inputs
