Pune: In view of the significant reduction in rainfall activity over most parts of India, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country on Monday, declared the IMD.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Assam and Meghalaya; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Odisha and Jharkhand; at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh,
coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at most places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab; at a few places over west Rajasthan; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over east Rajasthan, Gujarat State, west Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and near normal at rest parts of the country.

The maximum temperature 35.4°C was reported at Thondi (Tamil Nadu).

Night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Gujarat Region; at a few places over east Rajasthan, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at isolated places over Saurashtra, Kutch, south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Assam and Meghalaya.

They were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana; at isolated places over Vidarbha and near normal over rest parts of the country.
The lowest minimum temperature of 12.9°C reported at Amritsar (Punjab) over the plains of the country.

Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hrs IST of yesterday to 0830 hrs IST of today): at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Haryana, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and coastal and south interior Karnataka and at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, north interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttarakhand, east Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
