Bishnupur: Bishnupur District had its third Block Health Mela Friday at Community Health Centre, Moirang organised by District Health Society, Bishnupur. The health Mela was conducted for Moirang Block which covered three assembly constituencies – Kumbi, Thanga and Moirang.
MLA Thanga AC, Tongbram Robindro; MLA Moirang AC Thongam Shanti and AC to DC, Bishnupur Ejaj Hassan, attended the inaugural session of the Block Health Mela as presidium members.
The Block Health Mela is being held under the ‘100 Days Action Plan’ of the new government and as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ observation to create awareness among the people on various health issues and health-related schemes of the government. Medicines were distributed free of cost at the Block Health Mela under the Pradhan Mantri Jan- Aushadhi scheme. Creation of Health ID cards for CMHA & NCD; CMHT & AB-PMJAY were the main highlights of the Mela.
The Block Health Mela also provided free health check-ups, and vaccination along with cataract screening, ENT, Gynae OPD with USG, Dermatology, Lab Diagnostic services in the Clinical Stalls.
IEC and Awareness Generating Stalls of Poshan Abhiyan (ICDS & WCD); District Aids Control Programme; District Leprosy Eradication Programme; National TB Elimination Programme; Eat Right Movement India (Food Safety); AYUSH; School Health Programme (Education); and Family Planning Services among others were also set up in the Mela.
CMO Bishnupur, Officials concerned and staff of the medical department, ASHAs and Anganwadi workers also attended the function.
