New Delhi: BJP President JP Nadda on Tuesday said the book ‘Modi at 20’ is like ‘Geeta’ for political workers, and said all BJP members should read the book.

At an event attended by BJP workers in the national capital, the BJP President said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed politics and mentioned the surgical strikes, abrogation of Article 370, and schemes like Jan Dhan among key steps taken by the PM.

“This book is like Geeta for political workers… everyone should read it,” said Nadda.

He said Modi has served as head of an elected government for over 20 years. “The message is if you give good governance, people will keep trusting you,” said Nadda.

Nadda mentioned Nandan Nilekani, who is among the contributors to the book, and said he had fought the Lok Sabha election in 2014 from Bengaluru on a Congress ticket. “When Modi government came to power, he thought he would be sacked… Modi Ji met him, saw a presentation on Aadhaar, and said we have to give Aadhaar to every person in India,” said Nadda.

“Modi Ji’s popularity is always on the rise,” he said.

Nadda said during the Congress (UPA) rule, Pakistan could attack India whenever it wanted. “Prime Minister Modi said in a public rally in Calicut that they would be given a befitting reply and the surgical strikes were done. When another incident happened, an airstrike was carried out.

Referring to the abrogation of Article 370 from Pakistan, he said, “Prime Minister Modi made ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ come true.”

Nadda said PM Modi was not developing a ‘nation state’, but a ‘civilizational state.

BJP leaders Prakash Javadekar, Baijayant Panda, Vijay Goel, and Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta were also present at the event.

The book, Modi at 20, is a compilation of chapters authored by eminent personalities including Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Sudha Murthy, and Nandan Nilekani among others on PM Modi’s governance.
