Aizawl: Mariamma Thomas, Chief Postmaster General, North East Postal Circle made a courtesy call on the Governor of Mizoram, Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday.
Mariamma Thomas briefly introduced the Governor to the various improvements that are in the pipeline and are being undertaken to improve the postal services in the state. She also sought the support of the governor in some areas of their initiatives.
After the briefing by the PostMaster General, the Governor thanked the Postal Department for extending valuable services to the state, especially in the rural areas.
He urged the postal department to improve and enhance the services in Speed Post and asked them to increase awareness about the various beneficial centrally sponsored schemes that are available to be implemented through the postal facilities. He also advised the postal department to increase the coverage areas of postal banking services in rural areas.
Top officials of the Aizawl Head Post office were also present in this courtesy meeting.
