Shillong: Meghalaya reported one new COVID-19 case in the South West Garo Hills district and three more recoveries from the viral infection, two in East Khasi Hills district and one in West Jaintia Hills district, on Tuesday.
Meghalaya has so far registered 13, 955 COVID-19 cases, and 148 deaths and has a 1.06 per cent case fatality rate. The state has also recorded 13,787 recoveries and currently it has 20 active cases.
The state also tested 3,63,076 people for COVID-19. So far, 3,49,121were tested negative for the virus in the state, which had two containment zones where positive cases have been detected even as eight persons were in institutional quarantine and 12 persons were in home isolation.
On the other hand, 92,713 persons from outside have returned to since the onset of the pandemic till date.
Meanwhile, 16,558 health care workers have been vaccinated with the first dose of Covishield and 2,247 health care workers have received the second dose of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine, while 16,745 frontline workers have also been inoculated with the first dose across the state so far with no report of any adverse effect.
