Meghalaya enhances upper age limit by five years

The upper age limit of ST and SC candidates was 32 years for entry into government services which has been increased to 37 years

Shillong: Meghalaya government has enhanced the upper age limit by five years for those trying to enter into state government services, an official said on Friday.

“The upper age limit for entry into state government service was 27 years, which has been increased to 32 years for the general category. Similarly, the upper age limit for candidates from the Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled caste categories has been increased,” an office memorandum signed by Chief Secretary Rebecca Suchiang stated.

The upper age limit of ST and SC candidates was 32 years for entry into government services which has been increased to 37 years, the office memorandum stated, adding that the upper age limit will not be applicable for candidates applying for jobs in the police, excise, home guard, prisons and forest departments.
