Marathwada registers 54 new Covid cases

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad reported 12 new cases and two deaths followed by Osmanabad which had 21 cases, Beed had 9 cases, Latur had 7 cases, Jalna and Parbhani had 2 each case, Nanded district had a single case and Hingoli Nil, they added.

Aurangabad: Marathwada region of Maharashtra registered 54 new cases of COVID-19 and 2 deaths were reported during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Sunday.

Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad reported 12 new cases and two deaths followed by Osmanabad which had 21 cases, Beed had 9 cases, Latur had 7 cases, Jalna and Parbhani had 2 each case, Nanded district had a single case and Hingoli Nil, they added.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 1,701 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,01,551.

The state also registered 33 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,39,998.

Meanwhile,1,781 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 64,33,919 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.46 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

At present, there are 24,022 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
