Manipur’s positivity rate improves to 7.6% Thursday

The 6 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include 2 from Imphal East and 1 each from Imphal West, Chandel, Senapati and Tengnoupal. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,790.

Imphal: With 299 samples turning out to be Covid positive out of a total sample of 3,943, Manipur’s positivity rate showed a marked improvement at 7.6 % in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday. During the same period, the state also registered 6 Covid related deaths and 361 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 6 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include 2 from Imphal East and 1 each from Imphal West, Chandel, Senapati and Tengnoupal. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,790.

4 of the deceased had co-morbidities, while 2 of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose while 1 has been vaccinated with the 2nd dose.

The 299 persons (154 males, 145 females) from the general population who tested positive include 139 from Imphal West, 59 from Imphal East, 25 from Ukhrul, 24 from Churachandpur, 11 from Bishnupur, 10 from Thoubal, 9 each from Senapati and Tamenglong, 5 from Kakching, 3 from Kamjong, 2 from Chandel and 1 each from Noney, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal.

Meanwhile, 361 persons were discharged which include 186 from home isolation, 86 from CCCs, 68 from CHICs, 11 from JNIMS and 10 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 95.53 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,14,502 (General Population – 1, 10,381, Central Security Personnel – 4,121). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 09,392 (General Population – 1, 05,300, Central Security Personnel – 4,092). The number of active cases is 3,320 (General Population – 3,296, Personnel – 24).

The total number of doses administered on September 1, 2021, is 9,134 and the cumulative number doses administered is 15,40,862 (1st dose 11,89,914, 2nd dose 3,50,498)

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on September 2, is 472 which include 385 general beds and 87 ICU/HDU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on September 2 is 3467 out of which 715 are occupied and 2752 are vacant.
