Manipur’s positivity rate improves further to 5.4% Saturday

The positive cases include 132 from the general population and four from the CAPF. During the same period, the state reported two deaths and 150 recoveries, as per an official release from the health department.

Imphal: With 136 new positive cases from a total of sample of 2,524, Manipur’s positivity rate improved from 615 % to 5.4 % in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday.

The positive cases include 132 from the general population and four from the CAPF. During the same period, the state reported two deaths and 150 recoveries, as per an official release from the health department.

The one person who succumbed to the deadly virus was from Churachandpur while the other one was from Imphal West. With these two deaths, the cumulative death toll in the state rose to 1,860. Both the person who expired had co-morbidities and both of them were not vaccinated for Covid.

Of the 132 persons who tested positive from the general population, 76 are from Imphal West, 29 from Imphal East, 13 from Ukhrul, five each from Bishnupur and Tamenglong, three from Churachandpur, two each from Jiri, Thoubal and one from Kakchig.

Of the 150 persons who were discharged, 49 are from home isolation, 80 from CCCs, seven from CHICs, 11 from JNIMS and three from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 96.63 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 20,879 out of which 1, 16,803 have recovered leaving 2,216 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on October 1, 2021, is 10,958 and the cumulative number doses administered is 17, 13,995 (1st dose 12,24,668, 2nd dose 4,69,227).

The total numbers of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on October 2 is 564 out of which 451 are general beds while 113 are ICU beds.
