Manipur sees five deaths, 271 positive cases Friday

Imphal: Five persons died, 259 persons from the general public and 12 personnel of CAPF tested positive while 74 persons recovered in the last 24 hours leading to 5:00 pm of Friday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The five persons who succumbed to the pandemic, include a 52-year-male resident of Imphal West who expired at Raj Medicity, a 37-year-old female resident of Kakching who expired at JNIMS and a 76-year-old male resident of Imphal West, a 67-year-old male from Imphal West and a 42-year-old female resident of Imphal West, all of whom expired at RIMS.

Of the 259 persons (134 males 125 females) who tested positive from the general population, 105 of them are from Imphal West, 104 are from Imphal East, 12 from Bishnupur,10 from Churachandpur, 8 from Thoubal, 7 from Ukhrul, 5 from Chandel, # from Senapati from Kakching, 14 each from Bishnupur and Churachandpur, 13 from Kangpokpi, 11 from Thoubal, 4 from Tamenglong, 3 from Senapati, 2 each from Noney and Kakching and 1 from Jiribam.

Meanwhile, there were 74 recoveries which include 54 from home isolation, 8 from RIMS, 7 from SHRI, 3 from JNIMS and 1 each from Raj Medicity and CAPF. The recovery rate in the stand further dips to 94.23%.

The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 31,386 (General Population — 28,022 and Central Security Personnel — 3,564). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,764 (General Population — 26,313and CAPF— 3,451). The number of active cases is 1417(general population 1308 and CAPF 102).

As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination 173056.

The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
