Manipur: RPF chief says no peace talk with Govt

He said, “Historically Manipur had never been a part of India, it is only within the span of 70 years and Manipur became the part of India”.

Imphal: The Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has stated that it will not hold talks with the government of India.

Irengbam Chaoren, President, Revolutionary People’s Front said in a statement on Thursday issued on the eve of the 43rd foundation day of RPF ( Feb 25) that, “As of now RPF does not have any intention to enter into Peace-Talk with India. We know that India’s strategy of Peace-Talks aims at making the revolutionaries disarm or immobile thereby losing the real character and capacity of a revolutionary.”

He said, “Historically Manipur had never been a part of India, it is only within the span of 70 years and Manipur became the part of India”.

He further said the RPF is also not involved in the electoral process. He further said talks held with most organizations had fallen apart.

He said, “Manipur should take extra precautionary measures to protect ourselves from the pandemic. Therefore we appeal to the public to follow the SOPs given by the experts.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah during an election campaign on Wednesday had stated that if the BJP comes to power the Kuki militancy problem would be resolved.
