Manipur reports two deaths, 418 new cases Monday

The two persons who expired are Kakching and Senapati respectively. Both of them had co-morbidities, one of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all.

Imphal: Manipur reported two Covid-related deaths, 418 positive cases (403 general population 15 CAPF) and 333 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Monday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two persons who expired are Kakching and Senapati respectively. Both of them had co-morbidities, one of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine while the other one had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death tool in the state now stands at 2027.

Of the 403 persons from the general population who tested positive, 235 are from Imphal West, 72 from Imphal East, 18 from Bishnupur, 14 from Churachandpur, eight from Kakching, seven each from Senapatiand Chandel, sic from Tengnouupal, five from Ukhrul, four each from Kangpokpi and Tamenglon and one from Kamjong . Altogether, 2,311 persons were tested  amounting to a positivity rate of 18.1 %.

Meanwhile, 333 persons recovered and were discharged, 192 from home isolation, 133 from CCCs and four each from JNIMS and RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.80 %. For various reasons 46 persons were reported as discharged only on Monday so the total persons discharged as on January 24 is 379 after reconciliation with the IDSP team Home Isolation team, Community Home Isolation team and Hospitalization team. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 30,490 out of which 1,25,013 have recovered, leaving 3,116 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 23, 2022, is 1,010, the cumulative number of doses administered is 24,36,837 (1st dose 13,88,623, 2nd dose 10,32,925) and precautionary 15,289.

There is a total of 300 covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 46 are occupied while 254 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 26 are occupied and 164 are vacant.
