Imphal: A 61-year-old male resident of Imphal West Succumbed to Covid-19 at Shija Hospital Monday in Manipur, taking the state’s cumulative death toll due to the pandemic to 377.
In the last 24 hours leading up to 5:00 am of Saturday, 54 persons from the general population tested Covid-19 positive while 12 persons recovered, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
Of the 54 persons (31 males, 23 females) who tested positive, 24 of them are from Imphal East, 22 from Imphal West, 5 from Thoubal, 2 from Kakching and 1 each from Kangpokpi, Kakching and Churachandpur.
10 of the recovered persons out of 12 were on home isolation while 1 each are from CAPf and RD Wing.
Meanwhile, the Health department has instructed air passengers who travelled to the state on April 15 by Air India flight AI– 713 in rows 3– 9, to inform Covid Common Control Room 1800343818 or respective District Surveillance Officer (DSO).
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,775 (General Population — 26,289 and Central Security Personnel — 3,486). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 29,102 (General Population — 25,661 and CAPF— 3,441). The number of active cases is 296 (general population 255 and CAPF 41).
As per the latest information, the total number of vaccination 107100.
The official release further advised all persons above the age of 45 years to get vaccinated immediately at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, and select private hospitals.
