Airlines, AAI directed to comply with Govt of Manipur order

The Director Health Services, Govt of Manipur warned that failure to follow the order will attract proceeding for penalties.

Imphal: Director, Health Services, Dr K Rajo in a letter has informed the Director, Airport Authority of India, Imphal Airport; Station Director, Air India, Imphal Airport; Airport Manager, Air India and Airport Manager, Indigo Airlines to refrain from carrying passengers who do not possess Covid-19 negative report taken 72 hours before arrival to Manipur.

Referring to the order issued by the Government of Manipur on April 15, 2021, which made it mandatory for anyone entering Manipur to produce Covid-19 negative test report taken 72 hours before arrival in the state, the Director Health Services, Govt of Manipur warned that failure to follow the order will attract proceeding for penalties.

The letter from the Director also observed that on April 18, as many as 269 passengers out of a total of 1102 arrived at Imphal by Air India, Indigo and Air Asia without the prescribed report as per the order of the Govt of Manipur.
