Imphal: Manipur recorded 729 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the cumulative tally of positive cases to 52,278, according to state government’s health bulletin.
The death toll in the national capital rose to 839 after 14 fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the bulletin. Wednesday’s numbers mark a further decline from the last three days, however, the fatality figures continued to remain a cause of concern in Manipur.
Fourteen persons – one each at Home Isolation, LCH Ukhrul and Babina, four at Shija Hospital, two each at District Hospital Churachandpur, and JNIMS, three at RIMS hospital expired during the past 24 hours.
A total of 6,522 samples were tested for Covid-19 out of which 729 came back positive, according to the health bulletin. This was an increase from the 5,720 samples tested on Tuesday and 5,058 samples tested on Monday.
As per the health bulletin, 622 people have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, out of which 489 are from home isolation. The total number of active cases currently under treatment stands at 9,035, out of which 4,921 are in home isolation. A total of 42,404 people have been recovered so far in the state. The recovery rate is 81.11 per cent, which is slightly improved from the previous day at 81.05 per cent.
As per bulletin, a total of 840 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 544 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available in different health facilities of Manipur and Central Medical Store in the Directorate of Health Services has 900 D-type cylinders in stock.
As per latest information, a total of 4735 persons were vaccinated on Wednesday, which is far lower than the previous day, which stood at 6227.
