Manipur reports 2 deaths, 104 positive cases Wednesday

The two deceased persons were Thoubal and Bishnupur. Both of them had co-morbidities and both of them had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2088.

Imphal: Manipur reported two Covid—related deaths, 104 positive cases and 136 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two deceased persons were Thoubal and Bishnupur. Both of them had co-morbidities and both of them had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2088.

Of the 104 persons from the general population who tested positive, 30 are from Imphal West, 24 Imphal East, 14 from Bishnupur, 11 from Thoubal, five from Kangpokpi, four each from Ukhrul, Kakching, Senapati and Churachandpur and two each Tamenglong and Chandel. Altogether 1,647 persons were tested which amounted to a positivity rate of 6.3 %

Meanwhile, 136 persons recovered and were discharged, 102 of them from home isolation, 17 from CCCs, five from JNIMS and 12 from RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 96.89 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 36, 135 out of which 1, 31, 904 have recovered, leaving 2,144 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on February 15, 2022, is 4,144, the cumulative number of doses administered is 26,41, 956 (1st dose 14,89, 122, 2nd dose 11,00, 982) and precautionary dose 51,854.
