Imphal: Manipur recorded significantly lower new positive cases at 56 than recovery cases at 91 in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday.
The active positive cases have also come down below 1000. During the same period, the state reported two Covid related deaths, as per an official release from the health department.
One of the two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Chandel and the other one is from Imphal West. Both the expired persons had co-morbidities while one of them had been vaccinated with the 1st dose. The cumulative death toll now stands at 1907.
Of the 56 persons who tested positive from the general population, 25 of them are from Imphal West, 17 from Imphal East, three from Ukhrul and one each from Kakching and Senapati. Altogether, 1,664 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 3.4 %.
Meanwhile, of the 91 persons who recovered and were discharged, 33 are from home isolation, 43 from CCCs and eight from RIMS and seven from JNIMS. Due to various reasons, 403 persons were reported as discharged only Friday, therefor the total discharged persons is 494 after reconciliation with report of IDSP team, home isolation team, community home isolation team and hospitalization team as on October 21. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.71 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 23,107 out of which 1,20, 294 have recovered leaving 906 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on October 21, 2021, is 9,245 and the cumulative number of doses administered is 18, 64,123 (1st dose 12,39,478, 2nd dose 6,16,041).
