Manipur registers 2 deaths, 270 positive cases on Wednesday

The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus were from Imphal West and with these two deaths the cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,784. Both the deceased were not vaccinated for Covid -19 vaccination

Imphal: Manipur’s Covid situation is showing steady improvement with the positivity rate showing gradual improvement and the death toll coming down these past few days.

In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday, the state registered just two Covid related deaths, 270 positive cases (266 general population 4 CAPF)and 277 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 266 persons (124 males, 142 females) from the general population who tested positive include 1109 from Imphal West, 33 from Imphal East, 25 from Tamenglong, 24 from Ukhrul, 20 from Churachandpur, 15 from Bishnupur, 12 from Chandel, 8 from Senapati, 7 from Kakching, 5 from Thoubal, 4 from Kangpokpi , 2 from Tengnoupal and 1 each from Jiribam and Noney.

Altogether 3,276 persons were tested accounting for a positivity rate of 8.2 % in the state as on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, 277 persons were discharged which include 105 from home isolation, 97 from CCCs, 53 from CHICs, 11 from JNIMS and 11 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 95.47 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,14,203(General Population – 1, 10,082, Central Security Personnel – 4,121). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1, 09,031(General Population – 1, 04,939, Central Security Personnel – 4,092). The number of active cases is 3,388 (General Population – 3,364, Personnel – 24).

The total number of doses administered on August 31, 2021 is 7,320 and the cumulative number doses administered is 15,31,728 (1st dose 11,88,281, 2nd dose 3,43,447)

The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on Sepember 1, is 466 which include 381 general beds and 83 ICU/HDU beds.

The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state on August 31 is 3547 out of which 699 are occupied and 2848 are vacant.
