Manipur records over thousand cases for 2nd consecutive day

Imphal: Manipur for the second consecutive day recorded more than a thousand new positive cases, after a single day record spike a day earlier.

In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday, 1039 persons (514 males,525 females) from the general population tested Covid positive, while 14 persons succumbed and 677 persons recovered from the disease and were discharged, as per an official release from the Covid Care Centre.

The 14 persons who expired, include 5 from Imphal West, 3 each from Bishnupur and Churachandpur and 1 from Kakching. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1340.

Of the 1039 persons (514 males, 525 females) from the general population who tested positive, 289 are from Imphal West, 270 are from Imphal East, 98 of them belong to Churachandpur, 94 to Bishnupur, 85 to Kakching, 72 to Thoubal, 44 to Tamenglong, 26 to Noney, 23 to Chandel, 15 to Senapati, 12 to Kangpokpi, 5 to Kamjong, 4 to Tengnoupal and 1 to Pherzawl.

While, of the 677 persons who recovered and were discharged, 298 of them are from home isolation, 199 from CHICs, 147 from CCCs, 19 from RIMS and 14 from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state slides further down to 87.86%.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 81,560(General Population – 77,624, Central Security Personnel – 3,936). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 71,662(General Population – 67,838, Central Security Personnel – 3,824). The number of active cases is 8,558(General Population – 8,451 Central Security Personnel – 107).

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1780D type Oxygen Cylinders and 390B type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur. District hospitals and government institutions have 405D type and 104B type filled cylinders out of which  Bishnupur (70D, 0B), Chandel (34D, 9B), Churachandpur (23D, 0B), Senapati (44D, 0B), Thoubal (87D, 32B), Ukhrul (31D, 19B), Tamenglong (20D, 0B), Jiribam (46D, 13B), Moreh (9D,7B), Kamjong (3D, 2B), Kangpokpi (3D, 0B), Kakching (17D, 18B), Pherzawl (6D, 2B) and Noney(2D, 2B). CCCs have 361D and 125B filled oxygen cylinders available Thursday.

34,194 persons were vaccinated on June July 14, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 9,55,923(1st dose 8,52,179, 2nd dose 1,03,744).

The official release further informed that the number of patients admitted/adjusted as on July 14 against available bed strength in different treatment facilities in the state are RIMS(223/224), JNIMS(221/286), I land Hospital(28/60), district Covid facilities (145/332), MSF(26/30), private Covid hospitals(219/260), CCCs 1271/2946). Grand total of admitted patients is 22287and beds available is 2090.
