Manipur records highest single-day spike of 824 new covid-19 cases, 15 deaths

Imphal:  Manipur Tuesday reported 824 fresh coronavirus cases, the highest single-day count so far, taking the tally past the 47,000-lakh mark, while 15 more patients succumbed to the infection, said a health bulletin.

With this new COVID cases, the tally increased to 45,451, while the new fatalities pushed the toll to 720, it said.

The state’s earlier highest one-day case count was 767 which were recorded Sunday last. Also, 468 patients were discharged during the day, raising the number of recovered cases to 37,946, it said.

Manipur’s number of active cases has increased to 6785, the bulletin said.

The recovery rate is 83.48, which is lowered than the previous day.

Three persons at Babina, one at District Hospital Bishnupur, six at Shija Hospital, three at RIMS and two at JNIMS hospital expired during the past 24 hours.

A total of 1184 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 600 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur. District Hospital and government institutions have 173D, 58 B, out of these Bishnupur (30D, 13B), Chandel (18D, 4B), Churachandpur (17D, 2B),  Senapati (19D, 0B), Thoubal (26D, 13B), Ukhrul (14D, 0B), Tamenglong (5D, 0B), Jiribam (20D, 11B), Moreh (5D, 6B), Mao (4D, 6B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (1D, 8B), Pherzawl (4D, 5B) and Noney (0D, 2B).

As per latest information, the total number of persons who were vaccinated is 7033.
