Imphal: Manipur reported 669 new confirmed cases of infection on Sunday. The single-day tally of fresh cases recorded in the state is now increasing since Thursday (June 24).
Covid-19 has claimed a total of 1,124 lives in Manipur, including 16 in the last 24 hours. The state had recorded its lowest casualties in a single day on June 19 of this month at 6. The highest casualties on this month recorded on June 11 at 19.
Sixteen persons – one each at Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity, DH Thoubal and CCC Lakoipat, four at RIMS, three at JNIMS and five at DH Churachandpur expired. Among them four each were from Imphal West, and Imphal West, two at Thoubal, one at Bishnupur and five at Churachandpur district.
A total of 5,185 samples were tested (4267 RT PCR/TrueNat and 459 RAT) for the novel coronavirus in Manipur between Saturday and Sunday. The state has tested 8,88,118 samples to date.
Another 509 recoveries on Sunday pushed the cumulative number of discharged/recovered patients in Manipur to 61,038. They are from Home Isolation (186), RIMS (16), CCCs (108) and CHICs (199).
Manipur now has 5,824 active cases of infection. The recovery rate is 89.78 per cent.
As many as 7,105 beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. Government data shows that 5,31,004 people have so far been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Manipur.
Despite the fact that many hospitals both government-run and private hospitals have insisted patients having oxygen saturation level at 95 to go home for home isolations, a government notification for the last three days has appealed people with oxygen level (SPO2) below 94 per cent to immediately seek medical advice or shift to Covid Care Centres, Helpline numbers: Covid Control Room number -1800-345-3818, Home Isolation Helpline: 0385-2441230, 0385-2441231.
