Manipur records 330 new cases, lowest single-day spike since May 2; 14 deaths

The number of active cases is 6338 (General Population - 6167 and Central Security Personnel - 171). The recovery rate is 82.70 per cent.

Imphal: Manipur on Monday recorded 330 fresh Covid cases, the lowest single-day spike since May 2. It also registered 14 deaths, pushing the cumulative number of death to 592.

Fourteen persons, aged 65 years (male, Imphal West), 56 years (male, Imphal East), 82 years (male, Imphal West), 60 years (female,. Imphal Ease), 42 years (male, Imphal West), 74 years (male, Imphal West), 70 years (male, Imphal West), 76 years (female, Imphal West), 63 years (female, Imphal West), 63 years (female, Imphal West), 47 year (male, Imphal West), 66 years (male, Imphal East), 91 years (male, Imphal East) and 70 years (male, Imphal Fast) expired at Shija Hospital (3), RIMS (7) and JNIMS (4) hospital respectively.

During the same period of past 24 hours  327 persons (17914, 148F) from the general population and 3 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPP) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases.

The total number of discharged persons is 455. They are from CAPF (7), Home Isolation (322), RIMS (23), JNIMS (3). RI) Wing (6). BB (It). NSU (24). SHRI (20). Sabina Speciality  Hospital (6), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (10), Jivan Hospital (7), Bishnupur (14), Tamenglong (I) and Senapati (I).

While, the cumulative number of positive cases is 40,059, the recovered cases is now 33.129.  The number of active cases is 6338 (General Population – 6167 and Central Security Personnel – 171). The recovery rate is 82.70 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1488 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 502 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.

Strangely enough, there is no report of Covid testing in both JNIMS and Shija Hospital (RTPCR) which have normally reported of Covid positive cases. Sources told The North East Affairs that no testing has been done at JNIMS hospital on Monday due to sanitization of the Covid testing lab.


Meanwhile, air passengers who travelled to the State on 14th May. 2021 by Air India AI-715 in rows 8-14 are advised inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO)  for further surveillance and necessary testing.
