Imphal: A team of Bishnupur police arrested three people for alleged involvement in kidnapping and hijacking two non-Manipuris on March 28.
The accused Md Abdul Noor and his associates Md Atajuddin, 35, and Md Sanatomba alias Islauddin, 28, all from Kwakta Ward No 2 had allegedly kidnapped two non-Manipuris, identified as Rijetuddin, 22, of Golaghat, Assam and Wahidul Islam, 24, of Nagaon, Assam along with their Tata Yodha pick-up truck using one shot gun from Churachandpur Red Crooss Road. The two non-Manipuris were freed later on the same day, police said.
The police team first arrested Md Abdul alias Hari, son of Md Tolen from Kwakta Bazar. Further on his revelation, his co-accused Atajuddin, son of Md Abdul Helim and Sanatomba, son of Jaladdin were also arrested and seized the hijacked DI Tata pick up truck and one shot gun from them.
The arrested accused persons and seized items were handed over to Moirang-PS. A case has been registered at Moirang-PS for further investigation.
