Imphal: A man was killed when the truck he was driving fell into a river at Senapati district.
In another incident, Irang bridge, Noney district was washed away by flood at Irang river on Thursday thus completely cutting off the Imphal Jiribam national highway.
Police said efforts were on to find another person who was travelling in the truck which fell into a river. The truck carrying wheat fell down resulting in the death of the driver. Due to heavy rainfall some of the bridges in Imphal Mao highway in Senapati district were badly damaged.
People were dependent on the bailey bridge and it had collapsed as the water level of the river increased . Large numbers of vehicles remained stranded on either side of the river.
