Manipur media bodies put on hold boycott resolution

Chief Minister Biren and the Chief Secretary have assured to clear the bills pending with DIPR within four days and remaining by January 31.

Imphal: The joint resolution to boycott the Government, Ministers, ruling MLAs and political parties over non-payment of advertisement bills have been postponed to January end following a second assurance given by Chief Minister N Biren to the President EGM and AMWJU team.

Chief Minister Biren and the Chief Secretary have assured to clear the bills pending with DIPR within four days and remaining by January 31. 

In the light of the above development, it has been decided to put on hold the joint resolution taken on January 3, 2022 till the end of the month.

However, if the Government fails to fulfill its second commitment, the resolution will be put into action after making necessary changes in the time frame by holding another joint meeting, said a press release.
