Manipur logs two deaths, 27 new cases, 14 recoveries Wednesday

Both of them had co-morbidities, one of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccination while the other had not taken any vaccination.

Imphal: Two more persons succumb to Covid-19 virus, 27 persons test positive (19 general population, eight CAPF) and 14n persons recovered in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Of the two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, one is from Imphal West and the other from Kakching. Both of them had co-morbidities, one of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccination while the other had not taken any vaccination. The cumulative3 death toll of the state now stands at 2,008.

Nine of the 19 persons from the general population who tested positive are from Imphal West, five from Churachanpur, two from Imphal East and one each from each from Chandel Senapati and Ukhrul.  Altogether, 1,962 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 1.4 %.

 Meanwhile, 14 persons recovered and were discharged, six of them from CCCs, four from JNIMS, two from home isolation and one from RIMS. The recovery rate in Manipur now stands at 98.19 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,905 out of which 1,23,629 have recovered, leaving 268 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 4, 2022, is 4,229, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,26,816 (1st dose 13,30,162, 2nd dose 9,96,654).
