Manipur: Martyrs Day to be observed on Jan 30

Imphal: Martyrs Day will be observed on 30 January 2024 from 10.10 am to 11.04 a.m. at the Gandhi Memorial Hall, Imphal in memory of those who gave their lives for India’s freedom.

 During the observation, three Bhajans, Sumiran karle mere mana, Vaishnav Jana to tent and Raghupati raghav raja ram will be sung from 10.10 am:.

A siren will be sounded from 10.59 to 11.0 am as a warning signal for observance of the two-minute silence. Another siren will be sounded from 11.2 am to 11.3 as the closing signal. During the two minutes, vehicles along the highway and campus will come to a standstill.

All citizens are requested to observe a two-minute silence when the signal as aforesaid is sounded. They are also expected to stand wherever they are to observe the same.

The Governor of Manipur will be the Chief Guest of the function while the Chief Minister of Manipur will be the President of the function. Other dignitaries of the State Government are also attending the function.

All Government servants working within the Imphal Municipality area including Lamphelpat have been urged to be present at GM. Hall positively at 10.00 a.m. on January 30, said a press note from the Home Department, Government of Manipur. .
