Manipur logs two deaths, 20 positive cases, 39 recoveries Sunday

The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West and Senapati. Both of them had co-morbidities and had taken the 2nd dose vaccine.

Imphal: Manipur reported two Covid-related deaths, 20 positive cases and 39 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Sunday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The two persons who succumbed to the deadly virus are from Imphal West and Senapati. Both of them had co-morbidities and had taken the 2nd dose vaccine. The cumulative deaths in the state now stand at 2,138.

Of the 20 persons who tested positive, six each are from Imphal East and Imphal West, two each from kangpokpi and Thoubal, and one each from Bishnupur,  Senapati, Churachandpur and  Kakching. Altogether, 297 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 6.7 %.

Meanwhile, 39 persons recovered, 37 from home isolation and one each from JNIMS from RIMS. The recovery rate of the state as of Saturday stands at 98.28 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 39, 348 out of which 1, 36,955 have recovered leaving 255 active cases in the state.

As on August 6, 2022, 133 D-type oxygen cylinders and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on August 7, 2022 are as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which11 are occupied and 27 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds out of which 21 are occupied and 41 are vacant.

 The total number of doses administered on August 6, is 2,894, the cumulative number of doses administered is 31,32,532 (1st dose 16,21,980, 2nd dose 12,92,315) and precautionary dose is 2,48,237.
