Manipur logs three deaths, 388 positive cases, 240 recoveries Wednesday

The three persons who expired are from Imphal West, Bishnupur and Ukhrul respectively. All three of them had co-morbidities and none of them had been vaccinated for Covid.

Imphal: Manipur reported three Covid-related deaths, 388 positive cases (384 general population, four CAPF) and 240 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The three persons who expired are from Imphal West, Bishnupur and Ukhrul respectively. All three of them had co-morbidities and none of them had been vaccinated for Covid. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2034.

Of the 384 persons from the general population who tested positive, 175 are from Imphal West, 97 from Imphal East, 21 from Tengnoupal, 17 from Churachandpur, 16 from Thoubal, 14 from Bishnupur, 12 from Kakching, eight each from Kangpokpi and Senapati, five from Ukhrul, four each from Jiribam and Chandel, two from Noney and one from Tengnoupal. Altogether, 2,388 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 16.2 %.

Meanwhile, 240 persons recovered and were discharged, 152 from home isolation, 80 from CCCs and eight from JNIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.60 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 31,339 out of which 1,25,561 have recovered, leaving 3,744 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 25, 2022, is 8,894, the cumulative number of doses administered is 24,55,102 (1st dose 13,98,572, 2nd dose 10,37,016) and precautionary 19,514.

There is a total of 300 Covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 49 are occupied while 251 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 24 are occupied and 166 are vacant.
