Manipur logs 411 new positive cases Sunday, three succumb

Two of the three persons who expired are Chruachanpur while one is from Imphal West. Two of them them had co-morbidities and all three of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine. The cumulative death tool in the state now stands at 2025.

Imphal: Three persons succumbed to Covid-related complications, 411 persons (359 general population 52 CAPF) tested Covid-19 positive and 134 persons recovered in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Sunday in Manipur, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Two of the three persons who expired are Chruachanpur while one is from Imphal West. Two of them them had co-morbidities and all three of them had taken the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine. The cumulative death tool in the state now stands at 2025.

Of the 359 persons from the general population who tested positive, 164 are from Imphal West, 81 from Imphal East, 28 from Churachandpur, 26 from Thoubal, 16 from Kakching, 11 each from Tengnoupal and Bishnupur, nine from Chandel, four from Kangpokpi, three each from Jiribamand Noney, two from Senapati and one from Ukhrul. Altogether, 2,513 persons were tested,  amounting to a positivity rate of 16.4 %.

Meanwhile, 134 persons recovered and were discharged, 82 from home isolation, 43 from CCCs, seven from JNIMS and two from RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.82 %

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 30,072 out of which 1,24,634 have recovered, leaving 3,413 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 22, 2022, is 7,544, the cumulative number of doses administered is 24,35,513 (1st dose 13,88,190, 2nd dose 10,32,444) and precautionary 14,879.

There is a total of 300 covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 40 are occupied while 260 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 24 are occupied and 166 are vacant.
