Manipur logs 206 positive cases, positivity rate jumps to 6.6 % Wednesday

Imphal: Manipur reported a big spike in positive cases with 206 persons (140 general population 66 CAPF) testing positive in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Wednesday leading to a corresponding surge in the positivity rate to 8.6 %.

During the same period, there were no reports of any Covid-related death while nine persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

72 of the 140 persons from the general population who tested positive belonged to Imphal West, 27 to Churachandpur, 22 to Imphal East, six to Bishnupur, four to Thoubal, three each to Kakching and Ukhrul two to Seanpati one to Chandel. Altogether, 2,396 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 8.6 %.

Meanwhile, nine persons recovered and were discharged, four of them from JNIMS, three from home isolation and one each from CCCs and RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 97.83%

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 26,3550 out of which 1,23,802 have recovered, leaving 736 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 11, 2022, is 5,970, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,62,921 (1st dose 13,46,726, 2nd dose 10,12,582) and precautionary 1,613.
