Imphal: The JAC Medical Fraternity Churachandpur has suspended its ongoing agitation in protest against the attack by bandh supporter at Phagakchao on a nurse who was on her way to duty at PHC Saikot, Churachandpur on April 22.
The decision came about after an agreement was reached between the Joint Adhyaksh Zila Parishad representing Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur and representatives of the JAC Medical fraternity, Churachandpur.
As per the agreement the Joint Adhyaksh Zila Parishad agreed to pay 1,75,00 to the nurse for her treatment and vehicle repair which was damaged in the attack. It was also decided not to repeat such an incident and also not to target and harass officials on duty.
The meeting went on from 9 PM to 12 midnight at the Conference Hall, District Hospital.
