Imphal: The Manipur Governor, Anusuiya Uikey, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, and other ministers greeted the people of Manipur, especially, the Christian community, on this holy occasion of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
In her message, Governor Uikey said: “Sent with the objective of bringing a new world order based on truth, humility, sacrifice, equality, compassion, and peace, Lord Jesus is a giant among humans, and his preaching of peaceful coexistence and loving your neighbour has withstood the test of time. Good Friday exemplifies his supreme sacrifice for all the sins of mankind, and his resurrection represents the victory of good over evil”.
On this holy and pious occasion, she called on all to rededicate themselves to the noble ideals of peace, harmony, and brotherhood espoused by him for a better world devoid of evil. Let this sacred day be observed in the true spirit”.
Governor Uikey also wished the people of Manipur a very happy Easter.
Chief Minister N Biren, greeting the people of Manipur, on the occasion of Good Friday, said that “the crucifixion of the Lord on Good Friday and his resurrection on Easter Sunday, are manifestations of the triumph of good over evil. His teachings emphasise a world free from inequality and injustice”.
“May the goodness of Good Friday and Easter Sunday surround us all year long and bless us all with peace and prosperity in abundance. Let his ideals of sacrifice, compassion, and forgiveness be the guiding light in our pursuit of unity and brotherhood,” Biren Singh’s message added.
Water Resources Minister Awangbo Mewmai, and Commerce and Industry Minister Nemcha Kipgen, among others, also greeted Manipur’s people on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
