Manipur govt well prepared to implement NEP in the state: Education Minister

Minister Rajen Singh was speaking as Chief Guest at the Inauguration Function of newly constructed school classrooms of Laphupat Tera High School (Govt. added) in Imphal West, today.

Imphal: Education Minister S. Rajen Singh has said that the government is well prepared for the successful implementation of the National Education Policy, NEP in the state.  

Minister Rajen Singh was speaking as Chief Guest at the Inauguration Function of newly constructed school classrooms of Laphupat Tera High School (Govt. added) in Imphal West, today. He said that the government with the initiative of the School Fagathansi Mission has improved the education system in the state. The number of school dropout students has been tremendously decreased, he added. 

He informed that the government has a decision to convert Laphupat Tera High School to a full-fledged government high school. Minister said that there has been developed in many spheres during the regime of the present government. Manipur is in a poor state. Maximum parents in the state can not afford for their children for getting an education in private schools. Now the students need not go to private schools since the government schools have been improved a lot, he informed.

Rajen maintained that the school management committee needs to be well equipped and empowered. Teachers in government schools are well qualified in comparison to private schools. The only thing is that the teachers need to keep practising and dedicative service, he added.

 Deputy Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly, K. Robindro Singh attended the occasion as president. N. Basanta Singh, Pradhan, Laphupat Tera Komlakhong, G.P., also shared the dais as Guests of Honour.
