Manipur Governor, CM Biren, Ministers extend Cheiraoba greetings

Imphal: Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, and several ministers of the Manipur cabinet greeted the people of the state on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba, the Manipuri New Year.

Governor Uikey, greeting the people of the state in her Sajibu Nongmapanba Cheiraoba message, said, “The New Year is an occasion for the people to rejoice and look forward to the future with hope. It is time to make resolutions to usher in a year of peace and harmony in the state’

Hoping that the New Year will be a harbinger for a happy and prosperous life for all the people in the state, irrespective of caste, creed, and religion, she said that “the advent of the New Year will further cement the bond of friendship among the different communities in the state. On the occasion of Nongma Panba Cheiraoba, she urged all to “rededicate themselves once again to the promotion of peace and harmony in the state for a better Manipur”. 

Manipur’s Chief Minister,  N Biren Singh, extending his heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Nongma Panba Cheiraoba, said it “marks the Manipuri New Year, bringing new hopes and possibilities”. “It is considered the harbinger of prosperity and progress, and reinforces the age-old bond of brotherhood between the different communities of the state”.

Various other ministers of the state, including Education Minister, Th. Basanta Kumar Singh; Health Minister, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh; Water Resources Minister, Awangbow Newmai; Industries Minister, Nemcha Kipgen, among others, extended their greetings on this joyous occasion.
