Thoubal: District-level Interaction program on special summary revision on photo electoral 2023 was held Wednesday at the counting Hall of Deputy Commissioner Thoubal.
District Election Officer Thoubal and Kakching, A.Subhash Singh, chaired the meeting with all recognized political parties, EROs, AEROs and BLOs. In the meeting, the DEO deliberated on the existing and newly added features of voter enrollment. DEO urged inputs and cooperation from all political parties in exercise of special summary revision of the photo electoral roll.
He said linkage of Aadhaar with voters is very important as it will reduce the doubling and duplication of voters. Any citizen can claim an objection till December 8, 2022. Earlier there was only one qualifying date i.e. 1st of January. But according to new rules, there are four qualifying dates. Qualifying dates are 1st January, 1st April, 1st June and 1st September.
Almost 89.97 % of voters in the District are linked to Aadhar. Wangkhem AC has the highest number of Aadhar links with more than 97% among the 60 ACs of Manipur.
He appealed to the officials to complete the election-related work on time.
