Manipur: Destruction of poppy plantations continues

In continuation of the drive against illegal poppy plantations, combined teams destroyed a total of 38 acres of poppy plantations in different districts on Wednesday, said a press note of the PRO,, Manipur Police.

Imphal: A combined team of District Police Ukhrul, 6th MR, NAB, Forest Department and personnel of 9th IRB along with volunteers of Champung and Tora carried out poppy destruction at Tora/Champhung hill range on Wednesday. Around 30 acres of poppy-cultivated areas have been destroyed. 

On the other hand, a combined team of CDL Police, 8 MR, along with Japhou Bazar authority under the supervision of SP, Chandel destroyed  8 acres of poppy plants cultivated in the area of Old Lamkang Khunthak Village, Chandel District.
