Imphal: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee organised 14 press conferences on Jai Bharat Satyagraha in different district headquarters on Friday in the aftermath of the disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

The press conferences were addressed by senior Congress leaders and spokesmen of the Manipur PCC.

Various leaders spoke in the nationwide press conference in protest “against the erroneous conviction and disqualification of Rahul Gandhi, and to express the Congress Party’s resolve to keep raising the voice of the people against the blatant looting of the people’s money and the nation’s wealth by Modani”.

The party leaders deliberated on joining Satyagraha and fighting for truth and non-violence in the entire state and country. The speeches covered political, legal, democratic, and contemporary issues, exposing Prime Minister Modi and Gautam Adani’s role in promoting crony capitalism.

They stressed fighting against the dictatorship under Modi-Shah, which is remotely controlled by Adani groups. They shared the sacrifices made by the Gandhi-Nehru family and the martyrdom of two Congress Prime Ministers, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, for the country.

The speakers said Congress has been launching a series of programmes like blood donation, and sit-in protests, and during a rally on Thursday night, several Congress workers were injured in police action.
