Manipur: Anti-corruption Cell constituted; to take on expanded responsibilities

Imphal: With an aim towards making Manipur ‘Corruption-free’, the State Government has reconstituted an ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’ in the Office of the Chief Minister.

The Officer-in-charge of this ‘Cell’ will be an officer not below the rank of an Administrative Secretary. Two other officers will be assigned to this cell – one not below the rank of Deputy Secretary and the other not below the rank of an Additional Superintendent of Police, said a press note.

This ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’ will receive and act on complaints of corruption against public servants, received from the general public. The public can submit their complaints through multiple means, including ‘CM da Haisi’ platform, phone call, messages, written complaint etc. The ‘Anti-Corruption Cell’ will transfer actionable complaints to the competent authority and necessary action will be initiated by concerned authority within 24 hours.

The responsibility of this ‘Cell’ will be expanded to not only receive and act on complaints of corruption against public servants, but also public grievances on the delivery of public services. The ‘Cell’ will be renamed the ‘Public Grievance Redressal and Anti-Corruption Cell’. 

This’ Public Grievance Redressal and Anti-Corruption Cell’ will receive grievances of non-delivery or delay in delivery of public services, apaft from complaints of corruption against public servants.

The public can submit their complaints or grievances in various forms including ‘CM da Haisi’ platform, online portal, phone call, messages, written complaint etc. A dedicated online portal will be developed for this purpose, through which the public can submit their complaints and grievances. This portal will also be used to monitor the action taken on the public complaints and grievances. 

The complaints and grievances submitted, and the action taken will be monitored regularly by the ‘Public Grievance Redressal and Anti-Corruption Cell’. Regular monitoring and review will also be done at various levels including at the level of the Chief Minister. 6. These actions of the State Government will not only lead to a ‘corruption-free’ Manipur but also improve the public service delivery mechanism in the State, the press note added.
