Malappuram: A man and his daughter were killed while crossing the railway tracks at Vattathani-Valiyapadam near Tanur near here late on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday.
Police identified the deceased as Thalakadathur-native Azeez (46) and his daughter Ajav Marva (10)
Sources said the duo met with the tragic incident while they were going towards a relatives house to attend a function.
Azeez’s daughter had gone ahead and was trying to cross the tracks without noticing the train coming from Mangalore side when he ran to stop her when the oncoming train hit the duo, sources added.
