Imphal: Major Bob Khathing Memorial Football Tournament concluded on Monday, after 13 days of exhilarating and intense competition between 20 teams from Manipur state.
The thrilling final match held at Mission Veng Ground, Leimakhong, between the Football Lovers team from Chinmang Village, Senapati, and Brother FC from Sapomeina Village, Senapati, was witnessed by more than 1200 locals. The Football Lovers won by three goals and were crowned champions.
Manipur’s Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam was the chief guest on the occasion and felicitated the teams. The Sports Minister commended the efforts of the Red Shield Division in providing such an opportunity to the local youth and helping in the overall progress and development of the society.
The tournament was a resounding success, bringing together football enthusiasts from across the region. It has not only provided a platform for the young players to showcase their skills but also helped the communities come together and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship.
