Aurangabad: The ratio of COVID positive cases has dropped significantly across the Marathwada region of Maharashtra which reported only 29 new cases and a single death during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad reported 9 new cases and single death, followed by Osmanabad which had 10 cases, Beed had 4 cases, Parbhani 3 cases, Nanded 2 cases and Latur reported a single case.
However, in Jalna and Hingoli no new positive case was reported, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours,889 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,03,850.
The state also registered 12 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,40,028.
Meanwhile,1,586 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 64,37,025 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.47 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 23,184 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
