Kerala reports 14,087 new COVID cases, 11,867 recoveries

Addressing a press conference here this evening, the CM said "1,31,682 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 10.7 %. A total of 2,43,08,000 samples have been sent for testing till this day."

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 was newly detected in 14,087 persons in Kerala on Saturday while 11,867 patients have recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

Addressing a press conference here this evening, the CM said “1,31,682 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 10.7 %. A total of 2,43,08,000 samples have been sent for testing till this day.”

Meanwhile, 109 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 14,489.

Today, 15 Local Self Government areas were identified with TPR above 196 percent in the State

In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK taking the total to 128, and their samples have been sent to NIV, Pune for further testing. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
