Imphal: A peaceful sit-in protest was held on Saturday at Freedom Park, Bangalore, against the violent ethnic clashes between the Meiteis and Kukis in Manipur.
The protest aimed at bringing peace in Manipur by addressing the ongoing violence between the two communities, Karnataka Meitei Association, said in a statement.
KMA’s primary concerns revolved around the alarming issue of narco-terrorism, which poses a serious threat to national security, and the demand for separate administration from the Kuki community, the Association added.

The association firmly stands for the territorial integrity of Manipur, the restoration of peace in the state, and the implementation of the one state one administration policy.
More than 1000 participants, including students, professionals, and eminent personalities from both Karnataka and Manipur, actively took part in the peaceful protest. Their collective presence showcased a unified call for harmony, understanding, and dialogue between the communities, urging them to renounce violence and embrace peace.
The Karnataka Meitei Association believed that a peaceful and inclusive approach was essential in resolving the longstanding issues faced by Manipur. By raising their voices in solidarity, the participants demonstrated their commitment to building a secure and prosperous future for the state and its inhabitants.
