Justice Shinde committee holds its meeting in Jalna

Jalna: A meeting of the Justice Shinde committee, formed to prepare action plan for reservation of Marathas as Kunbis in Marathwada, was held at district collectorate here.

A detailed discussion was held on determination of documents and proofs which are strong proofs of ‘Maratha-Kunbi, Kunbi-Maratha’ caste records, an official press statement said here.

In this meeting held on Thursday, collector Dr Shrikrishna Panchal gave information about documentary records checked at archives of various departments in the district.

At the same time, the committee also inquired about the records of the Land Records Department, District Registrar and Stamp Registration Department. It was also directed that the help of relevant experts be taken to go through records written in Urdu and Modi script.

The committee also sought views of the representatives of the Maratha community, who were present in the meeting.

After the meeting, citizens of the district submitted their old available evidences and documents to the committee.
