Just six positive cases, no death Tuesday in Manipur

Imphal: The Covid-19 situation in Manipur continues to improve by the day. In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Tuesday, there is no report of any death, the state’s fatality tally due to the pandemic remains at 369. Also significantly, during the same period, only 6 persons (3 males and 3 females) from the general Population tested Covid-19 positive, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

Of the 6 persons who tested positive from the general population, 2 each are from Imphal West and Imphal East and 1 each from Bishnupur and Chandel. All the necessary medical precautionary measures  like containment and contact tracing have been put in place.

Meanwhile, 21 persons were discharged from Home Isolation and various CCCs of the state. 14 of those discharged are from Home Isolation, 2 from SHRI and 1 each from JNIMS, LKK, DH Churachandpur and Rajmedicity.

 The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,003 (General Population — 25,580 and Central Security Personnel — 3,423). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 28,463 (General Population — 25, 503 and Central Security Personnel — 3,410). The number of active cases is 171 (general population 162 and CAPF 9). The recovery rate is 98.13 %, the release added.
